Quatro were asked by London & Regional properties to support their application for an office-led mixed-use redevelopment in Elephant & Castle.
From the outset, our work on Skipton House faced some challenges. For instance, there was a large amount of redevelopment planned locally, some of it controversial. The proposals also included housing, so there was a sensitive discussion between the client, council and community about how much affordable housing was possible within the development.
We led a full community and political engagement strategy, including a comprehensive consultation and a series of neighborhood meetings. By engaging effectively with local Councillors, residents and groups and promoting the benefits of the project, we successfully achieved planning consent for the scheme, which included 50,000sqm of high-quality office space, a new cultural venue a publicly accessible roof garden and a financial contribution towards affordable housing.
