QUATRO TO THE FORE AT THE 2020 HIGHLANDS AND ISLANDS PRESS BALL

QUATRO TO THE FORE AT THE 2020 HIGHLANDS AND ISLANDS PRESS BALL

A new name but a familiar team will be behind the 2020 edition of the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards (HIPBMA).

For the first time, the event will be organised by Quatro PR which moved into Scotland this month with the acquisition of the team at Inverness-based System2.

System2 organised HIPBMA for the last eight years and the work will continue under Quatro.

John Ross, Quatro’s head of media, remains as chairman and principal organiser of the Press Ball which he revived in the 1980s.

John, and colleagues Peter Kane, an executive director of Quatro with key responsibilities for strategic growth in Scotland; digital platforms and marketing manager Hollie Ivy and account director Suzanne Kane will be responsible for all aspects of organising and managing the Press Ball and Highlands and Islands Media Awards.

This includes everything from the choice of meal to the band and from handling ticket enquiries to organising the fundraising. A social media strategy for HIPBMA will promote the event on numerous platforms, while the awards’ shortlist and winners will be promoted, providing bespoke publicity for awards winners and their employers.

This year a new, engaging website has been created and, together with news releases, blogs and e-newsletters, will keep guests and sponsors up to date on event news. Quatro will also organise and arrange prizes for a charity auction, raffle and tombola and ensure the chosen charities are promoted in various ways before, during and after the event.

Entries for the media awards will be collated and an audio visual presentation will be created for the awards ceremony.

With the help of a new two-year deal with the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, and sponsorship from major organisations like Diageo, Chivas Brothers, Statkraft, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the National Union of Journalists, Hub North Scotland, Inverness Chamber of Commerce and Bord na Gaidhlig, the event is kept as cost-effective as possible for widespread media colleagues.
