 DOUBLE PLANNING SUCCESS

Quatro’s planning team is celebrating two major successes.

The £1 billion Watford Health Campus masterplan was given the go-ahead by Watford Borough Council’s Development Control Committee on 15 May. The committee voted “resolve to grant” the necessary permissions, pending completion of the negotiation of a suitable Section 106 agreement.

The Health Campus, one of Watford’s largest ever planning applications, will regenerate a 26.5 hectare site in West Watford providing a new state-of-the-art major acute hospital, a redeveloped football stadium, a hotel and conferencing facility, hundreds of new homes, new space for businesses and improved access for the site.

This closely follows the approval for Criterion Capital’s £100 million hotel and residential redevelopment plans for London’s iconic Trocadero in Piccadilly Circus, which was granted on 8 May, pending completion of the negotiation of a suitable Section 106 agreement.

Criterion’s proposals for the Trocadeo include a 476-bed Ibis hotel on the empty two upper floors of the entertainment complex, eight new residential apartments, and a £500,000 community arts space. Criterion aim to open the hotel’s doors in time for the 2012 London Olympics.

 DOUBLE LUXURY HOTEL WIN

Quatro PR's hotel and hospitality team has won two new accounts - one to launch a contemporary apartment complex in Switzerland and the other a five star resort hotel in Croatia.

The Weisse Arena Gruppe has appointed Quatro to support the marketing of its stylish apartments in rocksresort, a snowboarding and ski destination in Laax, Switzerland. Maistra Limited, one of the leading hotel companies in Croatia, has asked Quatro to help launch its new five star property hotel Hotel Monte Mulini in Rovinj (Istria), due to open in Summer 2008.

This double win is a great way to finish off a very successful first year for Quatro, launched as a result of a management buy-out from Good Relations in May 2007. Quatro director Louise Rodgers, who heads the company's hotel and hospitality team, commented "We welcome both rocksresort and Hotel Monte Mulini to our growing portfolio of hotel and hospitality clients. Both Maistra and Weisse Arena were impressed by our bespoke and strategic approach to hotel and destination marketing PR."

Quatro's other hotel and hospitality clients include the g hotel, Galway; Les Trois Rois, Basel; the Grand Hotel Bellevue, Gstaad; Hôtel des Académies et des Arts in Paris; and the Rockwell in London.
