Quatro were asked to help Core And Old Park Lane Management achieve planning consent for a 27-storey office building on the border of Islington and the City of London. The proposal was bold in its design and height and initially attracted a vocal minority of local objectors.
We constructed a set of key messages and identified community stakeholders and groups, briefing local influencers and decision makers about the plans. A majority of local support was highlighted through a robust Statement of Community Involvement, in addition to a number of letters from residents endorsing the scheme, which maximised our client’s chances of success.
Regular contact was maintained with Planning Committee Members in the run up to determination and bespoke briefings were produced for members, presenting the benefits of the proposal in a clear and concise way.
Despite a relatively short period of consultation and engagement, we were ultimately able to overcome the objectors speaking at committee and secured unanimous approval for Ropemaker Street at Islington’s Planning Committee.
