Quatro created a successful public consultation strategy to engage the local community surrounding four school redevelopment projects, part of Lewisham's Building Schools for the Future programme.
- Constrained urban environments.
- Short timescales.
- Four concurrent projects at considerably advanced design stages.
- Significant PR issues including; negative national press coverage after parents waged a sit-in protest, a new special school for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder, pupil decanting to alternative locations and the new concept of all-through schooling.
- Provided timely, clear, succinct information about the proposals to local people and politicians.
- Accessible public event and representation at local community meetings.
- Each project had 24-7 dedicated community liaison personnel.
- Engaged local councillors.
- Produced Statements of Community Involvement highlighting consultation processes and feedback that were submitted with the planning application.
- All four projects, worth a total of £71m, were granted planning permission at the end of 2010.
